Dr. Carlson was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and grew up on three continents; she spent her early childhood living in Europe and Asia and her late teens in North America. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree, she worked full-time as a patient advocate, where she balanced diverse interests and needs and helped a community navigate a complex and varied healthcare system. This experience nurtured a highly-developed sense of personal and professional ethics that inspired her interest in dentistry. She is an assistant professor in the Division of Endodontics and Surgical Dentistry at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Her personal interests include traveling, car racing, fashion, and photography, as well as spending time with friends and family.
